Dereham 4s 7 - 0 Beccles (07/12/24)

With Dereham being high up in the current league table and Beccles only managing to field a team of 10 players, we knew this would be a tough match. Throw the heavy rain into the mix and it became rather unpleasant as well. However Dereham were a friendly team, on and off the pitch and when they realised we were playing with 10, they took a player off to match our numbers which was unexpected and very kind of them. This made a bit of difference in the game and Beccles managed to gain a few more chances at goal but unfortunately couldn't covert any of these to goals.

Everyone worked really hard to fill the gaps with forwards and midfielders doing a lot of running to try to get up the pitch in attack but also get back to help defend. Defenders Danie, Sara and Mandy held their ground as they had a lot to do interfering with Derehams many attacks and turning the ball over. Hannah R was a big part in this defensive effort but also in getting the ball up the pitch and helping with free hits at the other end. And not forgetting goalie Lorraine who made a lot of saves, including diving saves, with the rain making visibility difficult. There were certainly no easy goals scored, Dereham had a some good strikers and great shots. Well played everyone - I hope you have all dried off and warmed up!
