Another hard fought and enjoyable game with Beccles scoring two goals in the first half and another two in the second half. Beccles took a few minutes before they properly settled into the game, giving away a few penalty corners early on, as they struggled to clear the ball out of the D. However, they were soon back to their usual solid game. Beccles opened the scoring after 15 minutes, in an unusual way. The ball had ended up just in front of the goal with two Beccles attackers either side of the ball, only to see Emma, shoot forward at speed, and take the shot ‘to make sure’ Beccles scored! About 10 minutes later Jodie Sharp increased the lead making it 2-0 at half time.
The play was very much end to end, but with Beccles creating many more scoring chances overall, but they could not capitalise on them. Dragons had a very skilful central defender, and along with the other defenders and the keeper, they made it very difficult for Beccles to score. Beccles players Jodie, Rachael, and Marie had a very good game, as did Mandy in defence. Ellie Kirby scored the final two goals for Beccles, and Ellie and Emma Taylor shared the player of the match. Beccles remain 2nd in the East Division 5 North East (North) League, with 3 consecutive wins.
TEAM: Ellie, Debbie, Gemma, Emma, Jodie, Rachael, Marie, Mandy, Leslie, Hannah R, Sara, and Lorraine.
