Following a 6 week gap since Beccles last played due to problems with their home pitch; this break showed in their performance as the team played slightly below their usual standard and subsequently experienced missed opportunities. However, Beccles welcomed back Sarah Webster after a long absence, and she slotted back into the team and her usual strong game immediately. Watton, currently second from bottom of division 2 of the Empresa league, went ahead with less than 2 minutes played, with a soft goal. Despite Beccles having the majority of the play, with Watton hardly venturing into their attacking D, it took Beccles 18 minutes before they equalised through Hannah Eaton. Beccles had a spell where they won several penalty corners, but despite their best efforts, they could not capitalise on these. However 5 minutes before half time and again from a penalty corner, Jodie Sharp struck the ball hard at an angle and passed the defence to give Beccles the lead. Just before half time Charlie Calladine got her stick on the end of the ball right in front of goal to give Beccles a 3-1 lead. . Soon after the break Jodie Sharp added to her tally with another well struck shot. The second half was more evenly contested and Lorraine Greenwood in goal, had to pull off a very good save to keep the score line at 4-1. Beccles did get the ball in the goal right at the end, but it was just after the whistle had blown, so the goal was disallowed.
